Dear Harry,
I though I'd get this letter to you as the story was breaking so to speak.
Since the inception of the internet in the mid 1990's a number of willing, and often unwilling, members of the general public have become over night stars.
So far today I have received three separate e-mails from 3 separate groups of friends direction me towards Help Win This Bet.
The site is a single page with a image and message section at the bottom, oh and a page impression counter and eve though the bet began on the 14th of March it seems today the Internet has taken notice.
The e-mails directing me to this page arrived in this order;
- Australia - arriving at 08:27 - Number of clicks on help win this bet 145,000
- London - arriving at 11.38 - Number of clicks on help win this bet not checked
- Edinburgh - arriving at 13:13 - Number of clicks on help win this bet 345,000
The chap who has created this latest Internet firestorm has bet his girlfriend that the bored of the internet, and there are quite a few of us, will spread his URL far and wide. All he has to do is reach 2million page impressions and his girlfriend will permit him to....well I'll let you click the link and find out, but if I was her I would be beginning to get slightly nervous.
Regards,
Charlie
P.S. At the time of writing this, 16:00, the count is up to 463,000
